Lynn's Comments: This strip could have been done with just talking heads. But…drawing Weed eating a pizza without cutting it was so much fun. He is also reheating it on top of the stove elements without a pan under it. This is the kind of stuff my favourite cartoonists taught me: if you can, give the reader something other than the dialogue to think about.
Lynn's Comments: I once dyed my hair with food colouring. I used red dye and thought I’d done a good job. I never noticed that my scalp was red and my neck was, too. After school, I walked home with a boy I had big crush on. He never noticed my newly dyed locks until, (you guessed it) it rained! I can still hear him laughing.
Lynn's Comments: If any Canadians out there remember “Charlie Farquharson” —comedian Don Harron’s alter ego, you’ll recognize this sweater. As Charlie, he wore it until it was threadbare. One time, we were doing a stage show and one of the skits was about Charlie. Don, a good friend, offered to lend us his coveted sweater. I declined. Borrowing it would have been too big a risk! Don and I were friends for many years, and after his death, his partner, Claudette, had his cap and sweater sent to the Canadian archives—a fitting storage place for two iconic pieces of clothing.
